Symphony Pops Series Debuts in November

Music from Frank Sinatra, the Broadway Stage and The Beatles Highlight Santa Rosa Symphony/LBC Pops Collaboration

(Santa Rosa, CA) - A new chapter in North Bay entertainment begins in November with Symphony Pops. Thereâs something for everyone÷from John, Paul, George and Ringo to ãOld Blue Eyesä and Broadway star power. Be there for all three Sunday matinee concerts as the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts and the Santa Rosa Symphony join forces for the first time to introduce this crowd-pleasing series. 

Beginning on November 6, 2005 at 3pm, Michael Berkowitz Conducts 
ãA Salute to Frank Sinatra.ä
Take yourself back to another era through the music of ãOld Blue Eyes,ä performed by the Santa Rosa Symphony under the baton of the renowned Pops conductor, Michael Berkowitz. The program includes the original Nelson Riddle, Billy May and Don Costa arrangements, and features the great voice and dynamic stage presence of Steve Lippia

On January 15, 2006 at 3pm, enjoy Bravo Broadway, showcasing favorites from Evita, Chicago, Cabaret, Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera and more! This concert features the Santa Rosa Symphony conducted by Mitchell Sardou Klein, winner of the Bravo Award for his outstanding contribution to the Bay Areaâs cultural life, and three singing stars of the Broadway stage. Experience the incredible baritone of Doug LaBrecque from Phantom of the Opera, the outstanding tenor of Michael McGuire from Les Miserables, and the sweet and lyrical sounds of Jodi Benson- star of several Broadway productions and known the world over as the voice of Ariel in the animated feature film The Little Mermaid.

Then, March 12, 2006 at 3pm, imagine yourself on a Classical Mystery Tour where The Beatles play in concert with a symphony orchestra. This nationally-acclaimed Beatles tribute features original members of the Broadway sensation ãBeatlemaniaä performing live with the Santa Rosa Symphony led by conductor Martin Herman. The show includes some 20 Beatles tunes, performed exactly as they were written. Hear ãPenny Laneä with a live trumpet section, experience the beauty of ãYesterdayä with an acoustic guitar and string quartet, and enjoy the rock/classical blend on the hard-edged ãI Am The Walrus.ä

Subscription tickets to the Symphony Pops series are on sale now. Series subscribers save 15%, receive priority seating and retain the same seats for all performances. Subscription ticket prices are $74-$165. Single tickets ($29, $39, $49, $65) to individual shows within the series are on sale beginning September 16 at noon.
