News Release Contact: Sara Obuchowski, (707) 546-7097 ext 218

March 17, 2005

(SANTA ROSA, CA) ö The Santa Rosa Symphony continues its Viennaās Golden Age Festival on Saturday, April 2, 2005 at 5:30 p.m. at Sonoma Country Day Schoolās elegant Jackson Theater. The third program of this four-concert series features Jeffrey Kahane on piano and the Santa Rosa Symphony Chamber Players performing two works: Mozartās spirited and songlike Concerto No. 14 in E-flat major for Piano and Strings, and Beethovenās gracious, crystalline Trio No. 4 in D major for Piano, Violin and Cello. The program will be followed by a reception for musicians and patrons.

The Festival is hosted by Kahane, who takes audiences on an excursion to late 18th century Vienna, an important intellectual and cultural crossroads that was referred to by Mozart in 1781 as ćthe best place in the world for my profession.ä Kahane offers his cultural and historical insights from the stage in the popular interactive style that is his trademark.

Only a few tickets are left for this third festival concert, which takes place at the Jackson Theater on April 2. However, there are still seats for the Festival finale÷a full symphonic performance of Beethovenās Piano Concerto No. 4, again featuring Jeffrey Kahane on piano÷which takes place at Luther Burbank Center on April 30 at 8 p.m.

The 2005 Viennaās Golden Age Festival is made possible by a grant from Jackson Wine Estates. Additional underwriting was provided by the James Irvine Foundation, Community Foundation Sonoma County and the National Endowment for the Arts.

Single tickets are $22 or $30. Call (707) 546-8742 or visit the Symphony Box Office on the first floor of the North Coast Bank building at 50 Santa Rosa Avenue, Santa Rosa, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Advance purchase is recommended, but tickets will be available at the door subject to availability.
