Summer Music Academy to take place July 12-31, 2010 at Sonoma Country Day School.
Summer Music Academy is an exciting way to experience music. Beginning students can learn to play and instrument for the first time, and advanced students can further their music studies while making new friends with musicians from across Sonoma County. Professional musicians lead Workshops teaching beginning to advanced techniques on specific instruments. Ensembles, led by Santa Rosa Symphony Youth Ensemble conductors and music coaches, provide experience playing with a group that prepares students to participate in orchestras, symphonic bands and jazz ensembles. Additional classes, such as Music Appreciation, Music Theory and Composition are also offered to enhance players understanding of music.
Music is meant to be shared and the Summer Music Academy culminates with a performance. This performance is a fun way for the musicians to show off their Summer Music Academy musical accomplishments. Friends and family are invited to attend an afternoon of music on Saturday, July 31.
A $25 Early Bird Discount will be given to those who submit their registration form and tuition payment in full on or before April 1, 2010.
Financial Aid may be available for those who qualify. Applications for financial aid must be received by June 1, 2010.
