Fees & Tuition
Tuition varies by ensemble.

  • Preparatory Orchestra $350/year*
  • Discovery Orchestra $370/year*
  • Youth Orchestra $530/year*
  • Young People's Chamber Orchestra $450/year

    *
    (Musicians will be charged a $25 nonrefundable materials fee for
      each ensemble in which they participate.)

The first rehearsal dates for the 2007-2008 Season are as follows:

  • Youth Orchestra, Saturday 9/8/07 and Sunday 9/9/07
  • Preparatory Orchestra, Saturday 9/15/07
  • Discovery Orchestra, Saturday 9/15/07
  • Young People's Chamber Orchestra, Friday 9/14/07

Tuition Payments

  • The total tuition amount, plus the $25 materials fee, is due no later than the first rehearsal.
  • Musicians who have not made an agreed upon payment by the end of the second rehearsal, may be dismissed from the ensemble.
  • If a musician joins one of the ensembles mid-year (January/February), tuition will be half of the published amount, and is due no later than his/her first rehearsal.

Discounts

A 10% discount will automatically apply for families with more than one musician participating in an SRS youth ensemble, and for families with one musician participating in several ensembles. Families receiving financial aid are not eligible for additional discounts.

line Payment Plans

Families who are unable to pay the full tuition balance by first rehearsal may arrange a payment plan with the Education Associate, and must do so before the end of the first rehearsal.  This plan will specify a monthly agreed-upon payment amount and a specific due date. A fee of $25 will be charged. Failure to honor the agreed-upon plan may result in the musician being dismissed from the ensemble.

line Refund Policy
Any student who withdraws from an ensemble, and who notifies the Education Department by the Wednesday after the second rehearsal, will receive a full refund of the tuition paid, less the $25 materials fee and a $25 processing fee.  There will be no tuition refunds offered after this date.


line Financial Assistance
The SRS Education Department has a limited amount of inancial aid available for qualifying musicians.

Financial Aid may be available after that date, but it is awarded on a first come, first served basis. 

Parents should complete a Financial Aid form 2007-2008 (PDF), attach the required documentation specified in the application, and submit these materials with a $50 deposit per musician per orchestra to the Music Education Department.  Applications may also be obtained during auditions or from our Administrative Offices at 50 Santa Rosa Ave., Suite 410, Santa Rosa, during normal business hours.

Qualified families and their musicians will be notified of awards within two weeks of their application submission (after the priority deadline has been reached).  Those not qualifying for financial aid or who apply after the financial aid has been awarded will also be notified.
