FL05 SPRING INTO SPRING                 
Join us for a day visiting three diverse and interesting gardens in the Sonoma area.  We will visit the Crompton Sculpture Garden, where figures and mosaics are set into the 1/2 acre yard like tableaus unfolding in an elaborate stage show.  Next comes a horticulturist guided tour of Cornerstone Gardens, featuring a fabulous spring display of native bulbs planted in the meadow garden.  Lastly comes a visit to the amazing all organic/biodynamic property of Andrea Lazarus. Twenty years in the making, it features a compact yet complex front area and an open park-like landscape in the back, sure to elicit ooh's and aah's!  The tour will include a box lunch and refreshments.

FL06 AN AFTERNOON WITH SCULPTOR T BARNY
Enjoy the world of T Barny Sculpture!  Located in the beautiful Alexander Valley, master stone carver T Barny will take you on an unforgettable studio tour.  A native Californian, the artist has spent his life in a love affair with stone.  Abstraction is his fascination and power tools are his forte.  During the tour, T Barny will demonstrate his diamond tipped saw, explain where he finds his stone and show samples of work in progress.  The T Barny Gallery & Sculpture Gardens will exhibit finished works for you to walk around, touch and enjoy.  His exhibitions and awards span three decades and his pieces hold prestigious placement in collections internationally.  Wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served.

FM07 THE ART OF THE MEZZO
Dr. Barry Silberg and Michele Brule are once again hosting a musicale in his gracious home.  Well-known mezzo soprano Bonnie Brooks will serenade you with a selection of pieces.  Bonnie was the mezzo soloist with the Santa Rosa Symphony in their performance of Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass.  She has performed locally with the Cinnabar, Sonoma City, Pocket and North Bay Operas as well as with many local orchestras and choruses.  What better way to spend a Sunday afternoon than with magnificent music in a lovely setting.  Wine and hors d'oeuvres will be served following the performance.

FS10 DIXIELAND IS BACK IN THE VALLEY
Jim and Kathleen Young have graciously invited us back to their beautiful Victorian home and spacious grounds for another go at Dixieland in Alexander Valley.  The Beyond Salvation Dixieland Band will be entertaining us with their surprising repertoire using over 15 different instruments (not counting the kazoos and duck calls). Enjoy casual seating, delicious, plentiful food, and Kelley & Young wines.  All this among the beautiful Vineyards of Alexander Valley.  We'll have door prizes again this year and Kelley & Young wines will be available for purchase.

The League has a beautiful cookbook, Festival of Parties, Recipes for Entertaining Sonoma County Style. Based on the Festival of Parties, it is organized into parties complete with menu, decoration, music and activity suggestions, and, of course, recipes. It is available at Rodney Strong Winery in Windsor. Contact the League for a mail-order form.
